Justin Kimbrough

Justin Kimbrough retired as a Captain from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office in November 2024, marking the culmination of a fulfilling and challenging career in law enforcement. Over the years, he gained extensive experience across various investigative disciplines, with particular expertise in conducting and managing background investigations. Equipped with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Justin combined academic knowledge with real-world application to develop strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Throughout his career, Justin pursued professional growth by earning general and advanced instructor certifications, along with a Force Science Certification. These qualifications enabled him to teach, mentor, and train both new and veteran officers, emphasizing the importance of sound judgment, decision-making under pressure, and fostering community trust. Today, he continues to share his passion for law enforcement as a guest instructor at a local community college, where he imparts practical knowledge and real-world insights to his students.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Justin has demonstrated a deep commitment to his community. For a decade, he coached football, guiding young athletes not only in developing their skills on the field but also in learning valuable life lessons such as discipline, teamwork, and leadership. Seeing these athletes grow both personally and professionally has been one of the most rewarding aspects of his life.

With a career grounded in service and an ongoing dedication to education and mentorship, Justin remains committed to making a positive impact on others, whether in the classroom, on the field, or through future opportunities to contribute to his community.
