Robert Whiteford has been employed by the City of Lancaster Bureau of Police, Pennsylvania, since 2005. He is currently the Criminal Investigative Division's Captain, overseeing a team of fifteen detectives. He was previously assigned as an officer on the street, an officer assigned to the Selective Enforcement Unit, engaging with street-level drug dealing, a violent crime detective, a sergeant detective, and a detective lieutenant.
His experience includes patrol work in an urban environment, violent and property crime investigations, polygraphs, pre-employment background investigations, undercover drug operations, use-of-force instruction, internal investigations, and leadership. He has experience teaching internal affairs investigations, use of force, and strategic health classes to current police officers.
He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from York College of Pennsylvania and is currently studying to attain a Master of Science degree in Strategic Leadership from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania.
