Thomas Ward is currently the owner of Law Enforcement Seminars, LLC. His company teaches seminars in a variety of areas, mainly focusing on Background Investigation and Internal Affairs. He has taught the Background Investigation seminar since 1993 and in 2010 added the Internal Affairs course. Additional courses taught have been Officer Involved Shootings, School Safety and Computer Forensics. Mr. Ward has used experts in their respective fields to teach the additional seminars.
Prior to his current position with Law Enforcement Seminars, LLC, Mr. Ward served for 28 years with the Dallas Police Department in Dallas Texas. Mr. Ward retired as an Assistant Chief of Police. Throughout his career, assignments included Personnel, Patrol and Communications with oversight for all hiring, training, internal affairs, legal and support areas of the Dallas Police Department.
Mr. Ward holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police, Police Executive Research Forum (PERF). He has also graduated from the Command Management School, Southwest Legal Foundation and has received specialized training from the Institute of Police Technology and Management and F.E.M.A. He is a member of Leadership Dallas. Mr. Ward holds a Master Peace Officer Certificate from the state of Texas.
